Will Beyonce beat Shakira in the UK charts?
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s latest effort Deja Vu looks set to challenge Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie this weekend, after it was released on physical format yesterday. The track, which debuted last Sunday as download-only at 21, is already on course to topple Hips Don’t Lie, which has been on the UK chart for 11 weeks. Other new entries expected to make their mark on the singles rundown this Sunday include Morrissey’s In The Future When All’s Well (Attack/Sanctuary), sales of which are strong after the singer’s performance at V last weekend, and Thom Yorke’s Harrowdown Hill (XL). Justin Timberlake’s Sexyback looks poised to hit the Top 10 by next week, since download-only sales have already this week propelled him into the Top 20. Elsewhere, Hope of the States, Rolling Stones and Taking Back Sunday are likely to enter the Top 40. On the albums chart, the Top 10 is unlikely to change a great deal this weekend with Christina Aguilera maintaining the top slot with Back To Basics (RCA), closely followed by Snow Patrol’s Fiction album Eyes Open.
