Plans for the Grammys’ blowout 50th-anniversary show are back in full swing, now that the striking writers have agreed not to picket the Feb. 10 broadcast. We can tell you some of what those plans are. According to a well-placed source, the big ’surprise’ number will be a duet by Beyonce and Tina Turner, who has only rarely performed since 2000.

Recent sightings of Britney Spears at the Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood had led some fans to speculate that she might be rehearsing a big Grammys routine, à la her aborted ‘comeback’ at the VMAs in Las Vegas. When we followed up this rumor with our highly placed insider, the source told us: ‘Britney is banned from the building.’

A Grammys rep told us: ‘We haven’t released any presenters or performers, and until we do, nothing is confirmed.’ The Writers Guild has yet to grant the Grammys a formal waiver, although Recording Academy President Neil Portnow is on record as saying the ceremony would proceed as planned.

American R&B queen Beyonce Knowles and her boyfriend rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z had a stop over in Iceland on Sunday and stayed for the night at Hótel Keflavík. On Sunday evening they went to local pub Paddy’s to watch American football. ‘They were mostly left in peace. But it leaked out that they were here so we were a lot more busy than on a regular Sunday evening,’ Jóhann Halldórsson, a caterer at Paddy’s, told 24 Stundir.

The couple had come to watch the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants in the finals of the American NFL league. ‘Jay-Z would not be disturbed while the game was on. He got completely caught up in the game, screamed and shouted,’ Halldórsson said, laughing.

Halldórsson asked Beyonce whether he could take a picture of her with his children. She didn’t want any pictures taken, but told him to invite his kids over and then she signed their CDs and cell phones. She also gave autographs to other guests at Paddy’s and chatted with them. Hótel Keflavík manager Steinthór Jónsson said both the star couple and their escort had been easygoing and friendly towards other guests. When they left, Jónsson gave Beyonce an artwork featuring Iceland by his sister Gudlaug Helga Jónsdóttir.

Though the WGA writer’s strike could take their fight to the upcoming Grammy Awards, Beyonce and The Foo Fighters won’t stop the music. Access has learned the R&B superstar and the rock band will be attending the Grammys regardless of the possible strike.

‘The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate the Grammys’ 50th birthday in February. Beyonce, as well as my other artists Solange and Trinitee 5:7, have been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible Beyonce performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best,’ said Mathew Knowles, her father and manager, in a statement.

Many other artists have not said if they will attend the Grammys until the details of the night have been worked out. The WGA, who has said it is not likely to grant the Grammy Awards a strike waiver, has given waivers to the NAACP Image Awards, the SAG Awards, and the Independent Spirit Awards.

Jay-Z and Beyonce were spotted out in New York City last night for the first time in 2008. Always looking their best, the 1st couple of hip-hop made their rounds in the Big Apple with Jay sporting a hooded jacket with a grey v-neck sweater and dark jeans, and the Bootylicious one wearing a leather jacket and some Capri-style pants.

With Beyonce’s international appeal, she may have garnered herself a spot in a new Bollywood film, according to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. In fact, the film, ‘Kambakht Ishq,’ could have multiple American stars on its roster.

While the “Dangerously In Love” singer is slated for a musical appearance (think Ashanti in Bride and Prejudice), Nadiadwala is setting his sights high, aiming for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. “It would be an honor to work with them,” he told press.
